At VOVO Digital, we’ve been counting down to this moment, and we’re already bursting with ideas on how we’ll bring the Canva Create updates into our own work. Here’s a roundup of the announcements that had us glued to our screens and planning our next design sprint!
Visual Suite 2.0: Have Creative Control 💡
With Visual Suite 2.0, Canva now allows you to mix and match formats, such as slides, docs, whiteboards, and videos, within a single design. This means you can build complex, multi-format projects all in one place, without having to juggle separate files.
Each page can have its own layout and content type, and you can timeline the full journey visually. It’s ideal for campaign planning, strategy docs, or internal toolkits. When you’re done, you can even publish the whole thing as a website. This update gives creative teams a more flexible and efficient way to manage big-picture projects from start to finish.
Design with Data: Insights Made Pretty 🌺
Canva’s new data tools make it much easier to work with numbers and insights – turning real data into visualised storytelling, helping you plan content at scale, and even using AI to generate full sets of branded designs from a single spreadsheet, all without needing to leave the design platform.
Canva AI Has Had An Upgrade ✨
The upgraded Canva AI helps turn ideas into real content with a single prompt. You can draft a document, create a presentation, or generate an image – all by typing out what you need.
If you already have a reference image, you can upload it and ask Canva to produce something inspired by it, with your brand style in mind. It’s a powerful way to save time and move quickly, especially in the early stages of a project. It’s a valuable way to explore directions, overcome creative block, and speed up workflows for marketing teams.
Canva Code: Build Without Barriers 🙅♀️
One of the most exciting updates is Canva Code. This new tool lets anyone create interactive content – like mini games, apps, or websites – using just AI prompts.
No coding experience is needed! Just describe what you want to build, and Canva AI takes care of the technical side. This opens up new possibilities for engaging and dynamic content, making it available to everyone without having to take a coding course, all created within Canva.
Bonus Features We're Loving 🎁
Alongside the headline features, Canva also announced a long list of smaller upgrades which members of the community had asked for. New diagramming tools make it easier to create flowcharts and wireframes. The image library has improved, with better stock photo options. Docs now support highlighting for improved collaboration, and there’s more control in video editing with adjustable audio levels.
We also spotted handy additions like more animations, the ability to resize images in bulk, subscript and superscript formatting, and even AI-powered text-to-speech.
