About Durham IPPP

Durham IPPP (Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology) is a research institute within Durham University who perform world-leading research in particle physics phenomenology. They sought our assistance to elevate their online presence through a new website to meet their unique needs.

The Challenge

Website and Integrations: Durham IPPP approached us as they were in search of a digital agency to build them a new website. Additionally, they wanted a custom integration with their Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) system for authentication into hidden pages within the site, as well as to populate the data driven pages of the site that show the Staff and Postgraduates. They wanted their LDAP system to automatically update their website content when staff were removed or new staff were added.

Our Approach

  • Web Design:

We built them a fresh website using WordPress and Elementor, with multiple data driven pages.

  • Custom Integration:

We built a custom LDAP integration that would populate the content on the site from their LDAP system. We also included various data streams from external systems such as UK HEP and the IPPP's indico system.

The Results & Impact

The result was a data driven website that required minimum maintenance as it would update itself from various data sources, giving visitors access to up to date information about the IPPP. Members of the site also have access to more information that is locked behind the websites LDAP based authentication.
